A group of Bradley Method® families who have taken my class

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be doing this as a career. I’ve always simply wanted to improve birth and empower birthing folks to have the best birth possible. Never really meant to profit off of that. When I started, some of the local childbirth educators were upset with me for charging as little as I did for classes stating “You’re devaluing the brand.” Hmmmm. Is birth a “brand”? A “method”?

If I could do what I do for free, I still would. Most birth workers would (and sometimes do).

But now I’m a single mom living in SoCal, so I have to charge for my time - and my experience - to pay these wild living costs. Someday maybe I can travel the world and sleep on sofas for free, waiting quietly for the babies of those owning said sofas to arrive.

Again, I never thought this would be where I’m at. When my mother gave birth at home in 1983, the community was aghast. And I was just grossed out a little ( i was almost 11).

What I learned via my mother’s journey is that we must spread the word. Whether we are paid professionals, moms, dads, sisters, brothers, etc. — we must talk about birth to the community, the world.

So here are some links where you can hear me and read about me doing just that…

A random YouTube interview

I mean this is super random and not at all related, but just super excited they gave me photo credit. Oh, by the way, I dabble in photography and if you want me to take pics at your birth, I’m down. :)
